In 2000, this writer self published 100 copies of a
manifesto
attacking the pretentiousness of mainstream 'literary'
publi****ng.
He put it on Amazon. Unfortunately he was the only one
who bought
any copies.
BUT a national magazine saw it and reprinted
it in their 2001 July/August issue. It became a
sensation.
He later flushed out the article in a 2002 book. And
its a doozy!
I highly recommend it.
Name the author and the book and
for extra credit (though not necessary to win) the
magazine that brought the essay to the nation's
attention.
