The answer to, and winner (if any) for,
our last contest question of:
It's early 1940's - probably a dark and stormy day
like now as I write this - with thunder, lightning and
the rat tat tat of raindrops like a machine gun!!!
Well I got carried away. Anyway -
RKO's president George Schaefer is approached by a
representative of MGM's parent company with an offer
on behalf of Louis B Mayer and other Hollywood
executives.
They will reimburse RKO the TOTAL picture cost if
they'll destroy THAT film! What film do all the studio heads
want to destroy?
IS
Citizen Kane.
Fact - a print of the film was sent by RKO to William Randolf
Hearst at San Simeon (the inspiration for Kane and the man pressuring
RKO to dump the unflattering film!). But it was returned. Apparently
Hearst didn't look at it because the seals they had placed on each
reel were unbroken. Info from Citizen Kane by RL Carringer.
I had no correct eligible answers.
Not Rosebud, but "No Bud - wrong answer!"
I don’t

so please
wise up.

the correct answer
to this art question*
You are there! It's Feb 7, 1964, 1:20PM EST at JFK Air****t.
The BEATLES have landed in America. Down the ramp came
George, John, Paul, and Ringo. But who walked off the plane
next? Clue This American had music that was almost as
famous as the Beatles!
Good luck puzzlers!
