Mo' Zines, Mo' problems:
Over the last week or so I got some good stuff in the PO Box, including
some checks from our friendly distros, plus the usual assortment of
interestables:
- The Ken Chronicles #6, ($2,c/o 2140 Erma Drive, East Meadow, NY
11554-1120).IN another brief issue, Ken searches for his roots and
discusses music. Includes some color photos.
- Lower East Side Librarian, Winter Solstice Shout Out 2007 ($2, Jenna
Freedman, 521 E. 5th St. Apt D, New York, NY 10009; leslzine@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
).
Thick digest-sized zine, mix of handwritten notes and
typed-n-photocopied, nifty. Nice classic zine look in this age of DTP
publi****ng and handsomely designed zines. not that there's anything
wrong with that.
-Leeking Ink #31 ($2, stamps, trade, Davida Gypsy Breier, POB 11064,
Baltimore, MD 21212; www.leekinginc.com). I didn't realize how long it's
been since the last LI came out--2 years! Explains why Davida sent me a
mocking email when I let it be known that TIS is a little delayed this
month. Damn you all. Anyway, nice-looking and promises many perzine joys.
- Watch the Closing Doors #41 (Fred Argoff, 1170 Ocean Pkwy (Penthouse
L), Brooklyn, NY 11230-4060). Latest in the venerable zine about transit
in this sad modern world.
- Brooklyn! #59 (Fred Argoff, 1170 Ocean Pkwy (Penthouse L), Brooklyn,
NY 11230-4060). Can't go wrong with something this focussed and pure of
vision, natch.
And that was it, aside from the aforementioned checks which did not make
me rich enough to purchase an unspoiled island in the Pacific and leave
the world behind.
