Chafing for the good old days, eh? Well, you are welcome to
them. Take them away with you and don't you dare bring them back.
When I first started posting back in the old mid-Nineties, all the snotty
types who were getting their service from their schools looked down
their long noses at people like me who had pay our ISP Oh, we
would be the ruination of Usenet, blah, blah, blah. Taking the
position as I do that the best part of the net is about minds, not about
computers, I see little value in knowing the arcane things you are
nattering about. You remind me of some old goat maybe back in
the Sixties grousing that the new generation of drivers would never
make it to the gas station and back if they had to crank the engine,
open the choke properly, and work the clutch and ****ft and all that
sort of Model T stuff. Wake up nd smell the coffe, old chap--it's a
new net you find yourself on! Get that Model T off the road and put
it back in the museum before somebody rams into it. Whee...
